Monadnock Waldorf High School is pleased to welcome Segun Olorunfemi to teaching Block Printing to Grade 9 and Batik to Grade 11 in November.
While visiting, Segun is also offering a workshop for adults who would like to explore the art of Batik using wax and inks on rice paper. No prior experience is necessary. The tuition for the two sessions is $60, which includes the cost of materials.
Segun is a classically trained artist from Ibadan, Nigeria and is listed in “Who’s Who of Nigerian Art” published by the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC. Segun works in a variety of media including sand painting, batik on rice paper, and linoleum block prints. His traditional Yoruba culture reflects a constant awareness of life as a sacred presence in the world.
The workshop will be held in the art room at Monadnock Waldorf High School at 146 School Street, Keene, on Friday, November 18 and Friday, December 2, from 3:45 to 5:45 pm.
