About Us

Monadnock Waldorf School, founded in 1976, is an independent, coeducational, pre-school and preparatory day school for students age three through twelfth grade. We provide a substantive and rigorous academic curriculum within the framework of Waldorf education, inspiring creative thinking and a genuine, enduring love of learning.

With more than 1,000 Waldorf schools in more than 60 countries, and over 2,000 Waldorf early childhood programs on five continents, Waldorf Education is truly global - not only in scope but in its approach. Waldorf is the largest organization of independent schools in the world.

We are one school with one unifying educational philosophy and three campuses:

  • Our Nursery-Kindergarten is located on a beautiful 12 acre site on Old Walpole Road outside Keene, New Hampshire.
  • Our Elementary program resides on South Lincoln Street in Keene in the former Lincoln School building, a three-story brick treasure that received a 5,000-square-foot expansion in 2001.
  • Our High School program is located appropriately, on School Street in Keene at the former Tilden School building, with 12-foot ceilings and spacious, light filled classrooms that make learning a joy.
