About MWS

Monadnock Waldorf School began in 1976 as a grassroots, Waldorf-inspired nursery school in a living room in Nelson, New Hampshire. Over the next four decades, MWS grew into a thriving Waldorf school serving students from preschool through high school on three campuses in Keene. A dedicated circle of families and friends devoted their energies and talents to MWS throughout the years.

Our mission as a school was to educate children capable of contributing to their world with courage, compassion and conviction. For over four decades, MWS served more than 1,300 students, graduating thirty-four 8th grade classes and six high school senior classes. Our alumni are a testament to the power of an education that recognizes the unique talents and gifts of each individual child.
